Hey, Bro! I don't write as much as I should, but I talk to you often. You're always in my thoughts, but I've especially had you on my mind the last couple of days. There's so much going on right now. Plus, today's your birthday! You'd be 35 today. I'm trying to picture you at 35; I'll bet you're bald! Ha! The good news is you'll always be young! Jason- I never had the privilege of meeting you as a grown up. I met you once when you were just a kid. I knew your brother Curt. To the family of Jason: Went to Washington this past week and made it a point to go over to Arlington to say a prayer for your family. My heart still goes out to yall and I am deeply grateful for all that Jason did for all of us.

Thinking of you today, Jason, and remembering your sacrifice. Knowing how proud you were to be in the USAF and serve your Country makes it a little easier for me. You were remembered and honored so well Saturday with the first fundraiser for your scholarship fund by your many friends, family members and coummunity as a whole. Jason, today marks 7 years since that fatal helicopter crash that took you from us. Some days it feels like it was a lifetime ago, other days it feels like it happened yesterday.
You were always so loving and caring and devoted. Also, you were so mischievous, witty and devilish. All these traits made you the person everyone loved. I am so proud of you and what you did in your short life. More than some of us in a much longer life-span. You will ALWAYS remain in my heart. Love you, Mom. |
